Each week on the Tavour app, we highlight top-notch beers from independent craft breweries across the U.S. — and sometimes even from abroad! Here are just a few of the ambrosial IPAs we shared with beer lovers this week. Have you scheduled your beer delivery yet?

Great Notion Brewing - Mango Coconut Mochi - Milkshake IPA

This year has been crazier than Willy Wonka bestowing his factory to an inexperienced child instead of a hardworking Oompa-Loompa — but it hasn’t been all bad. After all, this was the year that Great Notion introduced the Tavour community to mochi beer!

If you haven’t yet hopped on the mochi trend, it’s a sweet ‘n doughy Japanese rice cake that comes in a variety of fruit flavors and is downright delicious.

Though, when it comes to beer, mochi is a rare sight. The Great Notion folks are like Willy Wonka that way — they don’t follow trends. They MAKE them.

That’s why today’s Mango Coconut Mochi IPA is such a treat! Trying to find a beer like it at the grocery store is like scouring candy bars for golden tickets.

To craft this succulent sipper, the Oregon brewers swirled it with creamy lactose and fermented it with toasted rice, flaked oats, mangoes, and hundreds of lbs of coconut. It tastes like if you took a bunch of mango sorbet and blended it up with fresh-shaved coconut, vanilla cream, and sweet rice pudding!

It’s one decadent delight that may as well have been brewed by sweet-minded Oompa Loompas. Though unlike Wonka’s goodies, this one comes with an adults-only 7% ABV!

Pipeworks Brewing Company - Speed of Sound - New England IPA

Jackie “Speed Queen” Cochran — the first woman to break the sound barrier in an airplane — once said, “Adventure is a state of mind and spirit.”

We’re pretty sure the brewers at Chicago’s Pipeworks were channeling her undeniable boldness when they made this 94/100 BA-rated Speed of Sound Double Dry-Hopped Oat IPA.

This innovative brew will take your tastebuds on a supersonic ride they won’t forget!

First, the brewers loaded this beer with a massive dose of oats so it drinks almost creamy — like a milkshake IPA but without the lactose. Then, they broke the hop-barrier by double dry-hopping with both regular Mosaic AND Mosaic Cryo Hops to amp up the berry and stone fruit flavors to dizzying heights!

Bushels of bright blueberry burst across the palate from the very first sip, then torrents of tropical tangerine take flight in formation with massive mounds of mango. On the finish, dive into dank papaya and pithy grapefruit. One sip, and you’ll feel like you’re breaking some flavor barriers yourself!

Now, we’re not saying this stuff will make you as radical as Jackie Cochran — when she died in 1980, no other pilot, man or woman, held more speed, distance, or altitude records in aviation history. That’s a pretty high bar for radness.

But, if you hook up your hophead friends a sip of Speed of Sound, you’ll definitely give yourselves a little taste of adventure. And like Jackie said, that’s always a good thing.

Full Circle Brewing - Strawberry Illa - Milkshake IPA

Controversial opinion: Strawberry milkshakes are better than chocolate or vanilla ones.

It’s a heated topic, but someone had to say it. And, after slurping down this thick and luscious Strawberry Illa from Full Circle, we just couldn’t keep our mouths shut any longer.

Bright, berry juiciness from real strawberries abounds in every sip, supported by additions of creamy lactose and the underriding sweetness of vanilla. Then on the finish, just a light smack of hoppy bitterness appears to help balance it all out. It’s elegantly executed, and sinfully sippable!

As the longest-running brewery in California’s Central Valley, Full Circle knows their way around the Milkshake rodeo. They’re like that diner in town that’s been around since grandpa was a kid — and everyone knows if you want to enjoy a proper milkshake, that’s the place to go.

At least, that’s how @Matt B. seems to feel! He raves that “This batch of Strawberry Illa is off the hook! I recommend Full Circle Brewing to anyone that wants a good tasting beer.”

You’ll have to be the judge though. Pour yourself a nice, cold glass of Strawberry Illa, and you might just discover that your new favorite milkshake flavor is strawberry.

Reuben's Brews - PNW Crush - IPA

Beer geeks in Washington State are proud of their hops. And, deservedly so — the state produces nearly 75% of all the hops grown in the country!

So, of course Seattle’s many breweries have to rep the local cones! And, when it comes to brewing juicebombs with ‘em, few do it as well as Reuben’s Brews

With well over 200 regional, national, and international awards to their name, Reuben’s is the single most decorated brewery in the craft-soaked Evergreen State!

But for PNW Crush, they didn’t stop at just locally-grown Azacca, Strata, and Mosaic Hops — they went full northwest with grains grown and malted in Washington’s Skagit Valley!

The ingredients in PNW Crush are as upper left as it gets, but the flavors are straight out of a California grapefruit grove! Big, juicy citrus and hints of tangy pineapple cascade through every sip, along with hints of peach. Let the finish linger for a minute though, and you’ll detect a subtle rustle of pine — just enough to remind you where this brew is REALLY from.

Not just the Pacific Northwest, but one of the hop-rich region’s most beloved craft beer institutions!

BlackStack Brewing x Bricksworth Beer Co. - Stuffed Crust - Imperial New England IPA

When you’re eating stuffed crust pizza, your mouth is filled with gooey, warm mozzarella cheese oozing out of a soft, doughy cocoon. When you’re drinking this Stuffed Crust, your tongue is wrapped in a pithy, juicy, thirst-quenching blanket of pineapples, oranges, and passionfruit from Strata, Sabro Cryo, and Idaho 7 Cryo Hops!

Those cryo cones impart a silky-smooth mouthfeel and banish any trace of bitterness. As a result, this juicebomb goes down so easily that fans’ eyes pop when they realize it’s 10.8% ABV!

This boozy brew comes from the Minnesota craft giants at BlackStack and their buddies at Bricksworth Beer Co., and it’s the beer equivalent of stuffed crust pizza — an epic sensory experience.

So, it’s no surprise that fans are rating it a mind-blowing 4.40 on UT, and practically begging for another slice — *ahem,* can:

  • “Does Blackstack make a bad beer?...Total shredder, and who would guess it's a triple?” @Joelle H.
  • “Wowza! Knocked me right on my [butt]. Delicious, too.” @R.C.S.
  • “Can’t make it much better than this!” @Kyle P.

While Pizza Hut’s stuffed crust may be just a phone call away, the only place to score THIS Stuffed Crust outside of Minnesota is Tavour.
